OC Supervisor Katrina Foley Releases Statement on Censure of Supervisor Andrew Do, Passage of Ethics and County Contracting Reforms, and Preliminary Climate Action Plan

ORANGE COUNTY, CA – Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley released a statement following the unanimous vote to censure Supervisor Andrew Do and enact proposed ethics and County contracting reforms.

“Supervisor Andrew Do brazenly exploited his position of power to enrich his family and friends under the guise of feeding the elderly, supporting Veterans and hosting community events,” said Supervisor Katrina Foley. “Two weeks ago, we removed Supervisor Andrew Do from his board appointed committees and commissions, including OCTA and SCAQMD. Four weeks ago, he last attended a board of supervisors meeting and his office has a skeletal crew. Forty-five days ago, the FBI and IRS raided his family home, and his daughter’s home. This censure is not only warranted, but also not far enough given the stain Supervisor Do leaves on his legacy at the County through this criminal minded operation allegedly dating back years. I again call on Andrew Do to resign. I will still continue to pursue every legal avenue available to have him removed from office.”

Supervisor Foley continued: “The ethics and contract policy manual reforms passed today are simply the first of many necessary oversight and transparency measures to restore the public trust of our County.”

County Approves Preliminary Climate Action Plan: The Orange County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to approve receiving and filing of the first-ever County of Orange Preliminary Climate Action Plan.

“Orange County’s first ever Climate Action Plan outlines our strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and significant carbon footprint from our county’s operation of three County landfills, nearly 19,000 employees, more than 800 facilities, and 3,000 vehicle fleet,” said Supervisor Katrina Foley. “I want to make it clear - the County’s Climate Action Plan is not a mandate for private residents or businesses, it is a roadmap for the County of Orange to reach the State’s mandates for local municipalities. Our inventory shows 87% of greenhouse gases in Orange County derive from our own landfills.  Our Climate Action Plan outlines measures for a resilient future through greenhouse gas and waste reduction, improved air quality, accessible and clean water, and expanded tree canopies countywide. Additionally, the plan reimagines our infrastructure and transportation systems to better protect our natural resources, beaches, parks, and open spaces for future generations.”
