Supervisor Katrina Foley to Host Patriotic Flag Day Celebration at the Old County Courthouse on June 14, 2022

Orange County, CA - This Flag Day, Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley will honor military personnel, firefighters, police officers, medical personnel, and other first responders on the 247th birthday of the United States Army. The celebration is co-hosted by the Exchange Club of Newport Harbor and will take place on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 4 p.m. at the historic Old Orange County Courthouse Lawn in Santa Ana. The Field of Flags will be on display beginning Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 9 a.m. through Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 6 p.m.  

“Our County unites to celebrate the Army’s 247th birthday and Flag Day by reminding our community of our pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America which symbolizes liberty and justice for all. And with the colors of the flag representing our strong foundation: red symbolizing hardiness and valor; white signifying purity and innocence; and blue representing vigilance, perseverance and justice, “said Supervisor Katrina Foley. “The flag folding ceremony reflects on the principles that America was founded on, with each of the folds representing a symbol of life, honor of our Veterans and armed forces, recognition of the role and value of women in caring for and shaping our society, and tribute to our great country.”

Field of Flags placement: Beginning on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. through Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 6 p.m. the Field of Flags will honor military personnel, firefighters, police officers, medical personnel, and other first responders.
