OC Supervisor Katrina Foley Delivers Funding for Transportation Projects and Safe Routes to School

ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — Today, Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley, who serves as a Director of the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), delivered funding for transportation projects throughout the Fifth District, including the acceptance of an $850,000 grant that will support the Safe Travels Education Program (STEP) Campaign. STEP provides select school in Orange County with free resources to encourage walking and biking safely to school.

OC Supervisor Katrina Foley Highlights Wildfire Safety Guidance for Homeowners

ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — Today, Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley joined the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) and California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara for a wildfire demonstration to show the effectiveness of science-backed wildfire mitigation actions homeowners can take to protect their property. During the demonstration, OCFA firefighters simulated conditions of a home catching fire with winds going 10 mph.

ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley commented on yesterday's Board of Supervisors meeting where the Board reviewed the third iteration of Orange County’s Housing Element, voted to join the amicus brief for the City of Grants Pass, Oregon v. Gloria Johnson, et al. as it heads to the Supreme Court, approved the purchase of equipment for Harbor Patrol, and responded to grand jury reports regarding fentanyl and human trafficking.

ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA — On August 30, 2023, Orange County Supervisors Katrina Foley, Fifth District, and Vicente Sarmiento, Second District, hosted an Investigative Hearing on Climate Resiliency in Orange County, during which experts provided testimony and recommendations on addressing climate change in Orange County and shaping the formation of Orange County’s first Climate Action Plan, which is currently in development through a federal Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CRPG).
