Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley Announces $10.7 Million in New Funding for Motel Conversion Project in Costa Mesa

Orange County, California – Today, Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley announced the County of Orange’s award of $10,675,000 in new funding under Round Two of California’s Project Homekey program to acquire and convert the Motel 6 on Newport Boulevard in Costa Mesa into 88 units of affordable housing. Of these 88 units, 40 Homekey units will serve individuals impacted by COVID-19 who are experiencing homelessness.

Orange County, California – Today, Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley called on the Board of Supervisors to proclaim the month of June as National Gun Violence Awareness Month, which passed with unanimous Board support. Facing an increase in gun violence, both nationally and locally, Orange County recently experienced a hate crime and shooting at the Taiwanese Presbyterian church in Laguna Hills, which left one person dead and many others critically injured.

Orange County, CA - This Flag Day, Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley will honor military personnel, firefighters, police officers, medical personnel, and other first responders on the 247th birthday of the United States Army. The celebration is co-hosted by the Exchange Club of Newport Harbor and will take place on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 4 p.m. at the historic Old Orange County Courthouse Lawn in Santa Ana. The Field of Flags will be on display beginning Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 9 a.m.
